Two mechanisms, one axis
CJC-1295 is a GHRH analogue — in research models it acts on the growth-hormone-releasing-hormone receptor, raising the baseline of GH pulses. Ipamorelin is a selective ghrelin-receptor agonist (a GHRP) — studied for triggering discrete GH pulses without meaningfully touching cortisol or prolactin, which is what earned it the “selective” label.
Why they’re studied together
Amplitude plus frequency. The GHRH side raises how much is released per pulse; the GHRP side adds pulses. Research literature treats the combination as synergistic rather than additive — which is why the pairing became the default in this category.
